Honestly I didnt see anywhere that they charge 20% of your return (if its an advance or not you pay 20% or $1100 minimum.. I feel like by design they are vague about fees until you file. If I had known I would have done it manually or had my accountant do it for $200 or so, now instead Im stuck paying GWS $1100 ! And that out of a return of just $4200 <br />
I am not thrilled, on top if you choose advanced funding you have to become a member of “Carter credit union” and pay membership fees (on the GWS site it says these fees are complimentary paid upfront) but it doesnt make it clear if you pay that back.. its confusing and expensive either way.. I am happy to get something back (even if its 22 weeks from now) but Im extremely unhappy about the $1100 charge! Makes no sense to me, and I really needed the whole return basically.. GWS claims to have been created to HELP people like us when clearly they are only helping themselves.. oh and if you consider the advance read the 4 pages of super fine print first because I have a strong feeling the bank that advances you the money takes its own healthy share of YOUR money.. In hindsight I wish I filed the 1040x form myself or with my regular accountant,. i just didnt know the crazy costs until It was too late.. they made it that way.. pretty sad they take advantage of gig workers or anyone for that matter.. <br />
I do believe they are a legit, expensive and shady but I believe I will get some money or whatever pannies are left after they take thiers !
