I have an autism therapy company. We’ve been experiencing some growth so I reached out to Lendio in an attempt to get some funding for expansion. I was contacted by a company called Lennox Capital Holdings who said that they could get me a
$150,000 line of credit. The individual who reached out to me first was Gabe Davis (Contact: [removed by editor] These names could be fake so focus more on the scheme. In order to move forward, they needed to "build up my PAYDEX score" by providing me with a trade line that I told them I DID NOT NEED. At this point, I'd been referred to as the "investor" Mark Owens (203 305-3123) at Lennox Capital Group. He told me that this was the only way to report it as a paid tradeline to improve my business credit score. So, Lennox brokered a deal with Everyday Funding Group. They are either one company or they just scam together. The address for Everyday Funding Group is (308 Kings Highway
So against my better judgement, I signed a contract hoping that I'd receive a Line of Credit and Everyday Funding Group sent me $8,000 and told me that I needed to pay them back $15,000 ASAP. At first, I was skeptical but then thought to myself why would someone risk $8,000 if this was going to be a scam. However, I had perfect payment history working with lenders, so I believe they thought it was a solid risk. I paid the company back in a week and when I requested a zero balance letter, Mark Ownes started to give me the run around. They continued to debit my account for three days after I paid them off completely and it wasn’t until I put a stop payment through my bank that I was able to avoid additional charges. In total, I paid the company $16,500.
When I was speaking with Mark Owens, Gabe Davis, and Steve Parker (another Lennox/EDF partner: 858-935-8090), they told me that I was safe, and to ensure the validity of their claims, they offered me a letter of guarantee. It was signed by Mark Owens ("investor" ID included in the letter: 71265 and Steve Parker: 75425). They told me that if this was a lie that they would be liable for up to three times the amount presented in the line of credit offer (150k X 3). Of course after I paid everything off they never gave me a zero-balance letter, continued to debit my account $500/day, and never provided me any credentials for a Line of Credit. After calling them out on Fraud. Mark Owens referred me to a guy named Kevin who said that he was with their clearinghouse called Y2. Kevin appeared to be affiliated more with Everyday Funding and was supposed to mitigate the issue. After going back and forth about them scamming me, they stopped responding to my messages. Kevin said "we did what we were supposed to do.. provided you with an advance and you paid it off". That pissed me off A LOT because he was aware of the circumstances and knew I only accepted the advance to get access to the LOC. After telling him that I was going to pursue charges, Kevin and the whole team threatened to file a UCC claim against my company. After doing some additional research I found out that I'm not the first to fall victim to this scam and other people claim that they received UCC liens against their company a year later. I know this is the reason why they won't give me a Zero Balance Letter. If they don't then they can lie and say I didn't pay them and file a lien against my company for more money.
If you are working with these people or presented with an offer that sounds similar HANG UP!!! I already reported them to the Federal Trade Commision and New York Attorney General for Fraud. I'm in the process of suing them individually and hopefully charging them for their crimes. Them and people alike are destroying small businesses and discredit reputable lenders. They don't deserve to get away with this! If you are a victim of this scam and would like to pursue a joint venture to bring them to justice let me know (215.326.9211). I'm also open to Class Action Lawsuit since it seems that others have also been wronged by these guys. I don't care if it takes 10 years to close a case against them. I just want them to pay.
