We discovered that the back door of the Airbnb we had check in to had obviously been violently kicked in, at least three times, with shoddy repairs made afterwards. Even a previous heavy-duty 4-foot 2x6 wooden beam drop bar security door lock had
been violently kicked through. The deadbolt locking mechanism was missing its deadbolt, and another heavy sliding steel security bracket had all four large, long wood screws violently kicked completely out and each screw barely in place, easily removed and pushed back in with bare fingers. And at night the back porch light was dimly visible through repaired cracks in the door.<br />

As such, every time we ventured out we were careful to carry our laptops and other electronic devices with us in our rucksacks, anything that might be of interest to the serial burglar(s). We also went looking elsewhere for a safe place to stay.<br />

This Airbnb owner obviously needs to install a heavy external steel door with a heavy, reinforced steel door frame, like their front door, as well as bars in the back bedroom window. The owner of the Airbnb does have live online video cameras on the front porch as well as the back porch, but such does not seem to deter quick-and-dirty break-ins.<br />

We rented out this Airbnb for six days / six nights, Monday, October 10th - Sunday, October 16th, 2022, but packed up and moved out Wednesday afternoon, October 12th, and informed the Airbnb owner.<br />

Another thing to note is we discovered the property is in a "dead zone" meaning restaurants/apps will not deliver to this property (Dominos, DoorDash, etc.).<br />

When the Airbnb owner refused to issue us a credit for the days we did not occupy the house, we filed a complaint with the Airbnb staff. But, unfortunately, the unnerving Airbnb 10-day statute of limitations for complaints/reviews had expired by the time we had returned home and attempted to initiate a complaint process.<br />
<br />
Sadly, after years of satisfied Airbnb service, we terminated our Airbnb membership, and even then none of the Airbnb staff attempted to contact us and ask why.
