Hi, I ordered two adorable Hello Kitty Stanley tumblers via a persistent instagram offer. The price didn't raise red flags, but a few things on the website did. I couldn't find definitive complaints so I risked it.
The items arrived on time and
were packed in a way that protected the two tumblers inside, but the packaging reminded me of something international.

The actual box the tumbler was sealed in gave me pause because of the syntax. Stanleyness?? Is that a thing? I still was okay with my purchase until I opened it and pulled it out of the bubble wrap. It stank, and my heart sank, since that seems to be the mark of cheap Chinese manufacturing. The problem is, I don't own a current Stanley (I stopped using my lunch thermos back in the 80s) so I have no way to compare the cardboard packaging, which was high quality aside from the aforementioned syntax issue.

It's possible that the odd wording is fine for the country it was meant to be sold in? Who knows. Here's where I came down on this: I will keep these, but I had hoped to give them to my nieces as gifts. I would not buy one if you're going to give it to someone else, but if it's for you? I'm 50/50 on whether it's authentic.
I will not risk putting them in the dishwasher, despite them being marked as "dishwasher safe" but at this point it feels like something purchased somewhere sketchy like Temu (I would never) or a dollar store (eh, occasionally). You know you may be risking your safety to save a few bucks, but you're older so who cares. I would NOT give this to a child or someone vulnerable. It's frustrating. I would not use this site again, but I will keep these two items and hope for the best.
