Check Emails for Phishing, Viruses, and Scams

ScamAdviser is developing a new tool to help you quickly verify if an email may contains a scam, or is phishing for your personal data.

The only thing you have to do is send the email you received and have doubts about to scam@scamadviser.com

We will then scan and check the email address of the sender and its content and you will receive an email back with the result of our analysis.

The service is currently in very early development and the results are not reliable but if you like to help us get better, please email any email you have doubts about or even legit ones to scam@scamadviser.com.

The service is of course free and we will not share your email address with anybody.

Thank you for helping!

The ScamAdviser Team

How does the Email Check Work?

Each email you send us we check for two things:

  • Is the email address itself legit?
  • Is the content of the email legit?

How do we check the email address?

We have defined tens of rules to determine the legitimacy of the email of the sender.

  • Is the email address free (gmail, hotmail, etcetera)?
  • Does the email address work?
  • Is it a generic email address (like support@)?
  • Are email security measures applied (like DMARC)?
  • Is the email domain reliable or known for spam/scams?
  • Etcetera.

How do we check the content of the email?

The message of the email we also check. For this, we use an artificial intelligence algorithm (AI). It comes to what extent the email overlaps with emails that have proven to be related to spam, scams, phishing, and malware in the past.

Always do your own checks!

As always, our email check algorithm is far from perfect and in this stage more often wrong than right. So always do your own checks. You can use our scam checklist to help you.
