Wxcnyll is an online store that claims to be selling sporting goods such as baseballs bats, golf clubs, basketballs, footballs and more. The domain name was registered in November 2020. The website has been registered in Florida under the name of William Gregory of Monk Home Funding Services. However, these registration details seem to be fake, for reasons which shall be explained later.

Wxcnyll appears dubious from the outset, owing to its gibberish name and unimpressive website design reminiscent of countless scammy Chinese online stores. The product listings fail to inspire confidence regarding the authenticity of Wxcnyll either. The images seem to have been lifted from online auction websites such as eBay and SidelineSwap. The prices on Wxcnyll are 80% to 90% less than the listings on other websites, which is a major indication that it might be a scam.

Moving further, the text content on Wxcnyll’s website has plenty of things wrong with it too. Firstly, it falsely mentions that the website is operating since 2016, even though the domain registration data clearly shows that it is active only since November 2020.

The same text can also be found on at least 256 other websites. Almost all the websites have neighbouring IP addresses and similarly gibberish names, indicating that Wxcnyll might be part of a network of websites operated by the same owners.

The documentation regarding various policies such as Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy do not appear to be genuine either. They mention names of unrelated companies such as Foxelli BV and other websites such as Uniqueloomin. This strongly suggests that the content has blindly been lifted from other sources.

While testing the checkout process, I found that the PayPal account associated with the website is of a Chinese-sounding company named Haoyue Fengyun technology Co., Ltd. Therefore, there is reason to believe that Wxcnyll is actually a Chinese operation, even though the website portrays that it is an American business.
