Ailinova is an online store that claims to be selling women’s clothing items such as tops, blouses, sweaters, cardigans, shoes, and more. The domain name was registered in October 2020. The website has been registered in Guangdong, China. The registrant’s other details such as name and contact details have not been provided. Therefore, all we know about the website’s ownership that it is being operated from China.
The site itself does not look impressive, as the same generic design is used by countless Chinese ecommerce stores. The website is targeting a French audience judging by the website language. The products being sold on the website look a bit fishy, as they are edited images that do not show the actual products.
Additionally, the products being sold by Ailinova can also be found on numerous other webshops. Many of these sites use the same design as Ailinova, which is the first indication that they might be related in some way. Further, many of these sites such as Lilicloth, Nordcloth and StyleWe and have earlier been found to have a high likelihood of being scams.
The textual content on the website is not original either. There are at least 8 other websites that are using the same text. The names of these websites are given at the end of the article in the ‘Appendix’ section. We analyzed the IP addresses of these websites and found that all 8 of them have shared or neighbouring IP addresses. Ailinova shares the same IP address as 4 of these and has the neighbouring IP address of 2 others. This implies that they are operated by the same company.
As some of these websites have been known to be run by a suspicious UK shell company named ChicV Ltd., there is a high possibility that Ailinova is another among ChicV Ltd.’s hundreds of websites.
Some of the text on the website is in English, which once again suggests that Ailinova is one of ChicV Ltd.’s loosely-translated websites.
Another link suggesting that Ailinova may be run using a UK shell company is that the Terms & Conditions page refers to the site operating in accordance with UK laws, despite the website clearly having been created from China.

Though no social media pages are mentioned on the website itself, I found that there are 2 different Facebook pages that have been created on the same day to promote Ailinova. The products being sold by Ailinova can be found on several other websites, most of which are known to be dubious online stores operated by a UK shell company named ChicV Ltd. The images of the products themselves are fake, as they show clothing designs edited onto templates of models.
The text used on the website is not original either, as the same can be found on at least 8 other websites. All of these websites seem to be operated by the same company as they share the same IP addresses. The content on Ailinova’s website establishes a connection between it and websites such as Lilicloth, Nordcloth and StyleWe, which have been found to provide an unpleasant shopping experience.
The only contact method provided by Ailinova is an email ID. There is no phone number or address mentioned. Not even a return address has been provided.

As the influence of the internet rises, so does the prevalence of online scams. There are fraudsters making all kinds of claims to trap victims online - from fake investment opportunities to online stores - and the internet allows them to operate from any part of the world with anonymity. The ability to spot online scams is an important skill to have as the virtual world is increasingly becoming a part of every facet of our lives. The below tips will help you identify the signs which can indicate that a website could be a scam. Common Sense: Too Good To Be True When looking for goods online, a great deal can be very enticing. A Gucci bag or a new iPhone for half the price? Who wouldn’t want to grab such a deal? Scammers know this too and try to take advantage of the fact. If an online deal looks too good to be true, think twice and double-check things. The easiest way to do this is to simply check out the same product at competing websites (that you trust). If the difference in prices is huge, it might be better to double-check the rest of the website. Check Out the Social Media Links Social media is a core part of ecommerce businesses these days and consumers often expect online shops to have a social media presence. Scammers know this and often insert logos of social media sites on their websites. Scratching beneath the surface often reveals this fu
So the worst has come to pass - you realise you parted with your money too fast, and the site you used was a scam - what now? Well first of all, don’t despair!! If you think you have been scammed, the first port of call when having an issue is to simply ask for a refund. This is the first and easiest step to determine whether you are dealing with a genuine company or scammers. Sadly, getting your money back from a scammer is not as simple as just asking. If you are indeed dealing with scammers, the procedure (and chance) of getting your money back varies depending on the payment method you used. PayPal Debit card/Credit card Bank transfer Wire transfer Google Pay Bitcoin PayPal If you used PayPal, you have a strong chance of getting your money back if you were scammed. On their website, you can file a dispute within 180 calendar days of your purchase. Conditions to file a dispute: The simplest situation is that you ordered from an online store and it has not arrived. In this case this is what PayPal states: "If your order never shows up and the seller can't provide proof of shipment or delivery, you'll get a full refund. It's that simple." The scammer has sent you a completely different item. For example, you ordered a PlayStation 4, but instead received only a Playstation controller. The condition of the item was misrepresented on the product page. This could be the
